With more than 1,300 breweries operating in the United States today, it is astounding to realise that there were only 40 in existence 30 years ago.
Then, most of those breweries were large and generally made light lagers. Thanks to the infusion of microbreweries and brewpubs, there are thousands of American-made beers to try at any one time, although distribution costs can limit accessibility. You’ll simply have to ask your favourite seller of beer for assistance.
Today’s craft brewer has identified those outstanding beers coming from Germany, Britain, Belgium and the Czech Republic and has put his own touch to them, leading to a revolution in drinking habits.
As a result, there are beers of varying styles on the shelves and the drink now is being recognised for its compatibility with food.
