Calendar girls?

Several members from Everards’ football team got in touch with their feminine side when modelling for the company’s charity calendar.

The staff from the Leicestershire based brewery borrowed clothes and make-up from their female colleagues to pose for the calendar in aid of Children in Need.

Pete Griffiths, systems development programmer for the brewery, said: “I star as Miss July and it was a great laugh seeing all the lads in their makeup. It was a fun way of raising money for charity and was a real team effort, with marketing producing the calendar and many people supporting it to raise more than £120 for a worthy cause.

Warehouse operative Gaz Smart (pictured) added: “Our Superstars football team decided to do the calendar as we wanted to organise something a little different for a good cause. The pictures have caused much amusement in the brewery.”

Staff from Everards have also raised a further £400 towards Age Concern’s campaign during the Christmas period from initiatives including staff making donations rather than sending cards.

Beneficiaries of the campaign include Crimebeat, which helps young people make a difference in their community and Leicestershire Cares, which strives to increase the quantity and impact of volunteering throughout the county......
