Subject: Polypins

I was at a friend’s house party recently and I sampled the most amazing beer. It was in the form of Speckled Hen from Greene King and came in a polypin which holds 36 pints. The thing is, I spoke to the friend who had brought it and apparently Greene King only make about eight of these a year and they are not readily available unless you specifically ask them to order you one (they sell for about £40-£50). I have to say that although the first couple of pints were quite cloudy the quality of the beer was amazing and it’s so nice to be able to get the quantity and value for money rather than the usual rubbish we get fobbed off with in the British supermarkets.

So my question... When is Greene King going to come to its senses and start making these easily available to the public?

I for one will be first in line to buy one when they do!

your favorite?

For anyone in the Massachusetts area, check out Opa Opa in Southampton. It also doubles as an excellent Steakhouse. Open approx two years, they currently produce my favorite IPA. Mega Hopped, very aromatic and clean tasting.

They have recently won for their RED ROCK ALE 2005 Gold Medal Winner Great International Beer Festival in Providence RI.

PS- love the magazine... can’t wait for the next issue....!!! Belgians!!!
