LETTERS
A bit of praise Dear Editor, Thank you, once again, for making my day with BOTW – for my money (by far) the best beer magazine on the market.

When the latest edition comes out, everything gets dropped while I eagerly put the kettle on in order to start reading my mag with a nice cuppa – or, if it’s an evening read, I get in my favourite comfy chair accompanied by a glass of Southern Tier Old Man Winter Ale!

After reading about Harviestoun Ola Dubh in the April issue of BOTW, I dashed up to my local beer store, where lo & behold, they had just received the 12, 16 and 30 year old whisky cask versions of Ola Dubh. Plus, for good measure, a number of bottles of J.W Lees Harvest Ales from 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.

Following a frantic phone call to the missus, I got the royal permission to stock up on not one, but two bottles of each of the Ola Dubh’s plus the Harvest Ales. My wife of 27 years understands me well!

I was also very pleased to see your Ciderspace feature. I went to school – and still keep in touch – with Kevin Minchew, of Minchew’s Cyders & Perries in Gloucestershire. Having seen his enterprise grow, we’ve maintained a keen interest in this field.

Thanks again for a magnificent publication.
