Nose : Ovaltine-like malt dominance. Grassy hop resins.
Palate : Moreish, malty bittersweetness. Spicy, almost gingery warmth. Soft chocolate. Complex fruitiness (sultanas
mostly, with hints of orange). Less welcome crude alcohol notes.
Finish : Dry and chocolate-malty, turning more bitter and hoppy. Biscuity malt adds to the moreish quality.
Comments : A bottle-conditioned beer that seemed a touch young. Another month in the bottle may have helped round off the coarser alcohol notes.
