Nose : Dark malts and treacle. A dash of raisin, a whiff of liquorice and just a trace of pineapple. Peppery.
Palate : Sweet and malty, with fruit (pineapple, orange and raisin) throughout. Underlying roasted barley and tangy hop notes. Liquorice emerges.
Finish : Warming and malty, with roasted grain. Drying, with a persistent hop tang.
Comments : An interesting and flavoursome, bottle-conditioned ruby beer that, on this occasion, lacked carbonation.
