Nose : Bitter chocolate, coffee, liquorice and just a trace of a salty, savoury note.
Palate : Anyone remember the chewy sweets called Chocolate Toffee Rolls? The same flavours are here. Little evidence of seaweed, except for a dry, savoury note.
Finish : More dark chocolate and toffee, with heavily-roasted coffee breaking through. Moderately bitter.
Comments : A deep ruby ale designed to replicate the old Scottish practice of fertilising barley fields with seaweed. This
seaweed goes into the mash tun instead.
