Nose : Surprisingly fruity at first (juicy Caribbean fruits), but then light coffee and liquorice emerge along with biscuity malt.
Palate : Smooth and loaded with more juicy pineapple and other tropical fruits. There’s plenty of sweet malt and yet also a notably bitter roasted grain element, plus a smack of liquorice.
Finish : Bitter, hoppy and dry with roasted grains.
Comments : A full-bodied, full-flavoured recreation of the imperial Russian stout style, but with a tropical fruit note and a rather intense, bitter finish.
