Abv: 6.5% Type: Summer Ale Bottle size: 500ml Country: England Brewery : St. Peter’s Brewery
Price: Reviewed in: Beers of the World Issue 6
Nose : Syrupy malt and mellow fruit – a little pineapple and mango – with hops emerging.
Palate : Silky, rather heavy malt is the main feature, but a prickle of hops on the tongue gives a little lift. Fruit flavours – both citrus and tropical – run through it all.
Finish : More citrus (lemon) notes on the swallow. Hops build nicely and last long into the finish.
Comments : Surprisingly strong for a summer ale, but there’s plenty of taste and body.
Score : 7.5
