Nose : Malty with a toffee/caramel accent and a light hoppy spiciness.
Palate : Bittersweet toffee at the start soon gives way to crisp, nicely rounded hop bitterness with a distinct floral note.
Finish : Dry on the swallow. Good hop tanginess after, plus a tannin-like dryness.
Comments : A nicely balanced and tasty, if very dry, bitter showcasing the Fuggle hop. The clear, informative labels of this and the Goldings Ale below set a new benchmark for bottling brewers.
