Riegele Aechtes Dunkel

Abv: 4.9%
Type: Dark Lager
Bottle size: 500ml
Country: Germany
Price:
Reviewed in: Beers of the World Issue 5

Tasted by Jeff Evans in issue 5.
Nose : Grainy, nutty cereals with a little chocolate.
Palate : Mostly bitter, nutty and malty with a grainy astringency. Spicy warmth and a sugary sweetness lie beneath.
Finish : Nutty, malty and drying. Pleasantly bitter.
Comments : A rust-coloured, German dark lager with a pleasant nutty character. It doesn’t quite come off in the bottle, however, but would be well worth trying fresh, on draught.
Score : 7
