Nose : Grainy and coffeeish, with a powdery ‘drinking chocolate’ character. Light suggestions of pear.
Palate : Powdery chocolate notes are immediately obvious. Pear notes throughout. Nicely bitter and not as sweet as expected.
Finish : Dry, increasingly bitter and chewy. Bitter chocolate and soft traces of pear.
Comments : A touch light in the body for its strength and not as thick and luxurious as the packaging promises. Quite a bitter stout on the whole.
