Nose : Malty and treacly, with just a suggestion of liquorice from the hops.
Palate : Like the 1849 above, malty but not sweet. Treacle toffee, banana and a faintly lemony hop balance.
Finish : Dry, malty and bitter.
Comments : A tasty, well balanced strong ale described on the label as a ‘storm in a bottle’.
