Nose : Bitter citrus fruits, oak and creamy vanilla. Toffeeish malt in the background.
Palate : Smooth and rather thinner than expected from the nose. Sweet and malty, with juicy, bitter citrus fruits and an oaky balance. Smoky toffee notes in support.
Finish : Bitter citrus peel asserts an edge with smoky, toffee-like malt behind. Delightfully mellow and delicate for its strength.
Comments : Slightly darker than the Cask Strength version (featured below), this beer is aged for 154 days and only 50,000 bottles have been produced. Fascinating, as always, from oak-agers Innis & Gunn.
Score : 8.5
