Nose : Grainy, biscuity, roasted malt. Oat like oily creaminess. Some winey fruit. Suggestion of liquorice.
Palate : Rich dark, nutty malts. Predominant sweetness. Background winey fruit.
Finish : Dry, with nutty roasted malts. Increasingly bitter but the sweetness persists. Hop notes develop strongly.
Comments : A ruby beer of contrasting flavours that lives up to its full name, although maybe just a touch too sweet in the mouth.
