Nose : Good and not so good. The rich, creamy malt is reminiscent of a quality Czech lager but then there’s a rather uninspiring vegetal note.
Palate : Crisp, full and bittersweet, with more creamy malt. Sweetcorn overtones, a little spicy alcohol, sappy, herbal hops, but again an unfortunate vegetal flavour.
Finish : Dry and notably hoppy with a good, tangy, herbal aftertaste.
Comments : On the whole a decent organic lager from New Zealand with a good, satisfying finish. The malt base is lush and deep but it’s a shame the hops aren’t a bit cleaner.
