Nose : Sweet red apples. Bitter Seville oranges. Faint chocolate in the malt. Liquorice-like hop resins emerge
Palate : Creamy and moussey texture. Sweet, but likely to dry with age. Juicy oranges. Glace cherries. Sultanas. The firm hoppiness verges on liquorice. Traces of marzipan in the spicy warmth. Light chocolate in the background.
Finish : Takes time to build. Bitter fruits and almonds compete with tangy hop.
Comments : An easy-drinking (for its strength), complex bottle-conditioned ale with a lighter finish than anticipated.
