Nose : Malty and winey (port-like) aromas, hidden at first behind grassy notes.
Palate : Smooth, winey beer with a rich maltiness. Mostly sweet but with some drying characteristics, including grassy hop resins. Spicy warmth throughout.
Finish : Gently gum-tingling, warming finish. Dry and deeply vinous, but not tart. Bitter notes last the longest.
Comments : Renowned port-like beer in a vintage-dated bottle. A little less chewiness would make it even more of a treat.
