Cameron's Trophy

Abv: 4%
Style: Malty beer
Bottle size: 500ml
Country: England
Brewery : Lion Brewery
Price:
Reviewed in: Beers of the World Issue 7

Tasted by Jeff Evans in issue 7.
Nose : Malty with a light hoppiness.
Palate : Malty and mostly sweet with an almost liquorice-like hop bitterness fighting back.
Finish : Sweet and malty with an increasing, rather harsh bitterness.
Comments : Regrettably, like the other Camerons beers, ruined by oxidation. Beyond that huge distraction, one glimpses a fair example of the sweeter North-eastern style of bitter. A relic from the Whitbread empire, Trophy – in its weaker, keg form – was once marketed as ‘the pint that thinks it’s a quart’.
Score : 6.5
