Reviewed in: Beers of the World Issue 5

Tasted by Jeff Evans in issue 5.
Nose : Rich toffee and malt, with a little spice and fruit.
Palate : Creamy, sweet malt, toffee and spicy, warming alcohol are the main features. There’s a reasonable bitter/hoppy counterbalance but the malt dominates leaving sugary notes on the tongue.
Finish : Bitterness builds but the creamy malt persists. A hint of liquorice begins to show through.
Comments : A dark copper lager brewed in Cordoba, Spain, home to a stunning 10thcentury mosque (mezquita). Rather strong for sipping in the blinding Spanish sun.
Score : 7.5
